Achilles tendonitis…

AMIT is an effective global approach

If you have ever suffered from Achilles pain, then you can understand how the Greek myth of Achilles came to be! You may feel invincible in other areas, but pain in your Achilles will prevent you from running, jumping and sometimes even walking! Advanced Muscle Integration Technique (AMIT) will get you on the road to recovery faster than anything else I have experienced!

As a PT, when a patient presented with Achilles tendonitis we typically focused on decreasing the inflammation in the tendon and then proceeded with stretching and strengthening exercises as indicated by our exam. While improving flexibility of the Achilles tendon itself is generally required, strengthening of the entire posterior chain is also important (hamstrings, glutes). Achilles tendonitis would typically take weeks to resolve and there was a fairly high percentage of patients who had to continue to manage symptoms, and did not achieve full resolution. Others had symptom resolution that would then return months or even years later.

Using Advanced Muscle Integration Technique (AMIT) I have been able to achieve resolution of Achilles Tendonitis in just a few short visits. Using AMIT we create stability throughout the lower body by facilitating inhibited muscles of the low back, glutes, quadriceps and the muscles in the lower leg which will directly impact the Achilles tendon. This holistic approach allows the body to restore full function, takes inappropriate stresses off the Achilles tendon and allows proper healing to occur.
